The Spoiler: A Powerhouse of Canadian Wrestling

For over three decades, Spoiler, the powerhouse from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling. Born Donald Jardine in 1940, this towering figure at 6 feet 4 inches and 270 pounds made a lasting impact with his dominant style and impressive array of signature moves.

As Don Jardine, Spoiler began his journey in the squared circle in 1959, eventually adopting various ring names including Spoiler #1, Butcher, Masked Enforcer #2, Sonny Cooper, Super Destroyer, and simply Spoiler. His powerful wrestling style earned him a reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

Throughout his illustrious career, Spoiler competed in various prominent promotions, including World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), and American Wrestling Association (AWA). His impressive résumé boasts an array of championship titles, including the NWA National Championship, NWA American Heavyweight Championship, NWA Georgia Heavyweight Championship, NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship, and NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship.

Despite his success, Spoiler's legacy was not without its challenges. The rugged wrestler suffered a series of injuries, which eventually took their toll on his body. After a remarkable 29-year career, Spoiler hung up his boots in 1988.

Sadly, the passing of time exacted a heavy price from this wrestling legend. On December 16, 2006, Spoiler succumbed to leukemia, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and influence generations of professional wrestlers.
