Born in Decatur, Georgia in 1951, Candy began his journey in professional wrestling in the early 1970s. His career spanned over two decades, with stops in top promotions like New Japan Pro Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, and American Wrestling Association.

Throughout his illustrious career, Candy held numerous titles, including the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship, NWA International Tag Team Championship, NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship, and NWA Western States Heavyweight Championship. His impressive resume earned him the nickname "Black Tank," a testament to his unyielding strength and determination.

Candy's signature moves included the elbow drop, headbutt, and body press – all of which left opponents reeling. Fans around the world marveled at his physical prowess, and his charisma in the ring only added to his appeal.
